The Seven People on Your Path to Purpose

Have you ever had one of those conversations where time seemed to freeze? Kevin had one recently, and he realized something very important. There are seven people you’ll meet on your pathway to higher purpose. Each one has a very unique role in your life, and today, Kevin introduces you to those people. Which ones have you already met?

• Awakener: This is the person who sees something in you that you didn’t see yourself. As the name implies, the awakener wakes up that special part of you. They help give your life new meaning.
• Doubter: Usually, after you’re awakened, you’ll tell people about it. You’ll always come across a doubter or two. The great danger here is that their doubt can be contagious. They might even WANT to pull you back down to them. Set strong boundaries with these people. Are you your own doubter?
• Encourager: On the flip side of the doubter, you’ll find the encouragers. These are the ones who see you as capable, confident, and they give you courage to continue on your path. Here is a little clip from The Help.
• Hero: This are the people who inspire you. You want to be like them. Maybe you know them, maybe you don’t. Maybe they aren’t even alive any more. It doesn’t matter; your heroes are the ones who help you understand where you’re going.
• Critic: The bigger your dream, the bigger your purpose, the more likely you are to draw critics. These are the people who always find fault. They love to pour cold water on your hot coals. You might also know them as trolls.
• Ally: The ally has your back. You and they are kindred spirits. The ally may be by your side for a day or a lifetime. They might be behind the scenes or sharing the spotlight.
• Mentors: These wonderful people teach you. Much like the hero, they inspire you, but they also guide your path first-hand, showing you all you can be.
